Star-Kist Tuna Toy Truck
Donated by Orville Hall Jr.
Orville Hall Jr. grew up in Fayetteville in the 1930s and 1940s, and "drove" this tin truck over many miles during his childhood.
Tin toys have been around since the mid-1800s. They were produced in Germany, England, France, the United States and Japan. Japan’s toy industry started in the late 1880s and really took off in the early 1900s. The industry was revived following World War II and Japanese toys such as automobiles, robots, wind-up toys, and space ships were big hits.
