Motorola "Calypso" Record Player
Donated by the Claude W. and Nancy Faulkner family
Nancy Faulkner of Fayetteville won this record player in the late 1950s, when she entered a contest sponsored by a cereal company. The contest consisted of identifying items in a picture on the cereal box.
The Motorola Calypso (Model 3H24) 4-speed portable record player was housed in a fiber glass carrying case. The player sold for $79.95, and came in two colors: Jamaican Sand and Ivory (as pictured here), or Carribean Blue.
